FORTUNATE FAMILIES INSTITUTES TRANSGENDER ACCOMPANIMENT VIDEO SERIES FOR MINISTRY FORMATION AND PASTORAL EDUCATION.

Today Fortunate Families launches a two-track formation program that includes fifteen educational/pastoral formation videos to equip pastoral ministers to accompany transgender and non-binary persons.
Ministry Formation Track is designed to form pastoral ministers to better accompany transgender and non-binary persons as they embrace their lived reality in the context of their Catholic faith.
Educational Track is designed for groups (dioceses, schools, parishes, medical personnel, parish LGBTQ+ ministries, etc.) to help understand issues that affect the personal and spiritual well- being of transgender and non-binary persons and their families.
The videos are facilitated by Sister Luisa Derouen, OP, who has served the Catholic Church for over 60 years. For over two decades, Sister Luisa has been an advocate for transgender and non-binary persons, ministering to and with them and their families.  Upon her retirement in 2021 she worked together with Fortunate Families to share her knowledge, pastoral experience, and professional relationships via these videos.
Topics Include: Our Sacred Bodies: Medical Realities for Trans People, Spiritual Companioning and Spiritual Direction, Faith and Spirituality, Workplace Inclusion for Transgender and Non-Binary People, Family Dynamics, Parenting a Transgender Child.
