Guidelines for Virtual Book Discussion On Zoom
The purpose of this on line book discussion is to engage interested persons in meaningful conversations through the written word.
We are not here to make statements or stake out positions.
While you may have questions concerning Church teaching, we are not here to lecture, cajole or try to convince others of the rightness of our positions.
Each person will be invited to share and no one will be pressed to share more information than they are comfortable with here or after the meeting.
We ask that everyone be considerate of the need for all to speak, and that all in the group have a chance to tell their stories, respond to the discussion questions, and to each other.
We each speak from our own experiences, and respect the experiences of others. We are considerate of the group and do not have side discussions; we allow all to share.
We provide support by listening carefully, sharing our own stories, and relating our own problem solving experiences when appropriate.
We are sensitive to each person’s stage in the journey of supporting their LGBT children.
We are sensitive to the LGBT person’s stage in their coming out journey.
